The Brief
A Patio which lacked a defined social area it had a couple of tables with sets of chairs and then a large and expansive lawn. We designed and built a large solid Oak pergola with a brick surround in front of which we planted a row of Lavender so that one was led from the Pergola onto the lawn
Design and build of large patio
Filed under: design, case studies, build on Jan 12, 2009
This project was to re-design and build a new patio to go where there was an old 1970,s patio made up of concrete slabs and overgrown leggy shrubs, We also undertook a smaller one at the side of the house as well. Along with the new Raj Green Indian Sandstone patios is a new planting scheme to go in the now cleared beds also an irrigation system and lighting. This stage of the project will be carried out at a later date.

In the winter of 2008/09 Earthmoves designed and built this garden which involved a small natural looking pond/water feature, a solid Oak Pergola as well as a tropical looking planting scheme using Hardy plants, an automatic irrigation system, and a low voltage lighting system.
As this project was built during the Winter we will post new pics of the change in planting from Winter to Summer.
